Catechism

Jesus says to every Munnabikira:
Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations, baptize them in the name of Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commandments.” Matthew: 28:20

Catechism is the most important activity of the Bannabikira. It seasons all our other apostolate, for we are called to spread the kingdom of God through every possible channel of our ministries. No matter in which ministry a Munnabikira Sister is prepared to serve professionary is called to be a catechist.

At the very beginning of our congregation the sisters were charged with the teaching of the Catholic Catechism and our pioneer sisters instructed both children and adults throughout Uganda, Sudan.

At present the Bannabikira are trained at Kiyinda and Villa Maria catechetical centres to instruct religion to children in 11 dioceses in Uganda, 2 dioceses in Kenya and three in Tanzania. However, at a higher level our sisters teach Canon Law at Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Kenya, Bible studies at Nygezi University in Tanzania. Lists of our apostolate from 1910 to present includes catechism as a major activity in the communities we serve, see under eduction.

(Through the teaching of Catechism,Bannabikira Sisters surport married couple to 50 years of Marriage)

(Agood number of priests were instrudted by the Bannabikira in Catechism classes.)
